certified pharmacy technician you’re going to have to take an exam and earn an accredited certification. Actually it’s not as difficult as many people think, if you put in the time, effort, and dedication you’ll be able to pass easily.
Essentially what a pharmacy technician does is assist the pharmacist with his basic day-to-day duties and tasks, the only exception being that you cannot give out medical advice. You’ll count pills, measure liquids, and fill the patient’s prescriptions; you also need to keep track of how many pills the pharmacy has in stock and so on. So pretty much you’ll be doing regular office duties.
To get yourself a job where you make the typical salary, you’ll need to have a little bit of experience under your belt, and then you can learn the rest while you are on the job. But believe it or not you can make an even better salary if your score in the pharmacy technician exam is better than normal. If you’re planning on taking the exam soon, there are many ways to help prepare for it.
The first thing you’re going to want to decide is whether or not to study online or off-line, and decide which Institute you’re going to pick. Once you figure that out, you just need to begin study. The test is divided into three parts, they are as follows:
Assisting the pharmacist in serving patients 66%
Maintaining inventory control systems and medication 22%
Participating in the management and administration of pharmacy practice 12%
The examination contains quite a few questions, 125 multiple choice questions, and you’ll have three hours to complete the examination. Besides that there will be 15 pretest questions but these won’t be included in your final score, but you still need to get them right because it serves as the foundation of your exam. When you’re preparing for the exam make sure you study each of the three areas that will be on the test, and make sure you study smart.
Don’t let the big words and the many questions frighten you. Before you take the exam try to stay calm and focused, the last thing you need on exam day is to be filled with anxiety and panic.
It’s really not that hard to pass the exam, stay focused and keep your mind on track. Try not to get distracted and you’ll have a great job in no time.

Thanks for the insight on the PTCB. Now, if I could only find my first job here in the Los Angeles and get off unemployment I would be able to afford the fee for the test.
