Pharmacy technician careers – how to write an excellent resume

The pharmacy technician field is among the fastest growing jobs that exists today. While the recession is still quite bad, it’s not affecting the medical field quite as much. Regardless of the state of the economy people are always going to be getting sick and American doctors are still filling around 3 1/2 billion prescriptions each year.

It’s been said that from 2006 to 2016 there’s going to be a record-breaking surge of new jobs for this career path. This is according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. If you have the skills and interest for this career that might just be the job for you.

These things alone won’t ensure that you’ll be able to land a job and be one of the many people who are happy with their pharmacy technician careers. While it’s true there are a lot of jobs there’s also a lot of competition. There are several things that you need to keep in mind while trying to find the best job.

The very first thing you’re going to want to consider is education. You must have a certain amount of training to be able to help your patients regarding their medicine. Proper training will also give you the ability to determine what kind of medicine will cause which side effects, and the possible hazards and side effects of taking multiple medications at once. Having good people skills is also going to benefit you when dealing with agitated customers.

But that’s not everything, in addition to your training you’re also going to want to have an excellent resume that will highlight your assets and point out how they will be of service to your new employer.

The education you bring to the table is of the utmost importance in this career. If you’ve had some excellent academic achievements in the past make sure to put them on your resume. Also include your training and whatever licenses you may possess carefully. If you have any other type of skills like maybe you speak more than just one language or you have the knowledge to handle reimbursement or billing for Medicaid, you’re going to want to mention these things on your resume as well. Often times when employers are on the lookout for potential employees they might use these types of job functions as keywords while on their search.
